Buying Frames Online
High-Tech Lenses for the Digital Age
Whether you are searching for a particular frame and lens style or simply browsing,
you're sure to find eyewear that's perfect for your face, and your prescription.
Below are some tips to take the guesswork out of ordering eyewear online.
Knowing Your Frame Size:
When selecting eyeglasses or sunglasses at Armed Forces Eyewear, it's helpful to
know what size frame will fit you. You can find this information easily by looking
at a pair of frames you may currently own, or by visiting a local optical store.
In the event you already have a pair of frames that you would like to purchase again
or even find a pair of frames similar, you can quickly identify the designer name,
model number, and frame size by simply looking on the inside of your eyeglass temples
(arm pieces). Below you'll find a quick guide to helping you identify your eyeglasses.
Note: Every frame has the same markings on the temples (arm pieces) or behind the
bridge (nose area) as shown here.
- Model Name:
Calvin Klein 338
- Color Name:
"Purple" or color # 80
- Size:
(Two numbers) "Eye size" and "bridge size", for example 48-19 or 52-20.
- Temple Length:
(Arm pieces) Usually between 120 and 150

Have Your Prescription Handy:
When purchasing lenses for your prescription
eyewear, be sure to have a copy of your prescription. You may either fax, e-mail
a scanned copy, or provide Armed Forces Eyewear with your doctor's name and phone
number so we may contact your doctor directly. You may fax a copy of your prescription
to 713-782-5330 or email a scanned copy to
prescription@afeyewear.com.
Have Your PD Taken:
A PD Measurement or
Pupil Distance can be taken at any optical store or from your doctor, and
many optical stores will provide this service free of charge.
DO NOT measure your own PD. A PD measurement MUST BE measured by an authorized
optical professional only.
